What is Love?
The Best use of Love
A Life devoid of Love is Meaningless

What is Love?

Love is living the way God commanded us to live. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is this: live a life of Love (2John1:6). Since God is love, the most important lesson to learn on earth is how to love. It is in loving that we are most like Him. So love is the foundation of every command he has given us. Learning to love unselfishly is not an easy task. It contradicts our self-centered nature. It is important to realize that even in our lifetime some people don’t understand this. It is God’s will that we love all people especially those that belong to the household of Him (Fellow Believers). As Peter tells us in 1Peter1:22 and 1Peter 2:17.

One will realize that God emphasize that special love should be given to those of the faith. God wants His family to be known for its love than anything else. Jesus said our love for each other is not affiliated to the church we attend but it is our witness to the world that God is our master. This is also following Jesus instructions when He said “Your strong love for each other will prove to the world that you are my disciples.

The Best Use of Love

Just like worship been a way of life so is love a way of life. Do you get it? Love should be your top priority, primary objective and greatest ambition. Love is not a good part of your life; it’s the most important part. The Bible says “let love be your greatest aim” 1Corth 13 speaks clearly about one' abilities without love means nothing. It is not enough to say “One of the things I want in life is to be loving” as if it is in your top ten list.  Relationships must have priority in your life above everything. Why?

A Life devoid of Love is MEANINGLESS

Often times we act as if relationships are something to be squeezed into our schedule. We talk about finding time for our children or making time for people in our lives. This gives the impression that relationships are just part of our lives along with many other tasks. But God says relationships are what life is all about.

Four of the Ten Commandments deal with our relationship to God. And the remaining six deals with relationship to others. The long and short is all commandments deals with relationships. Jesus summarizes what matters most to God in two statements: Love God and love people. He said, “You must love the Lord your God with all your heart ….." this is the first commandment. A second is equally important: "love your neighbors as yourself." All the other commandments and all the demands of the prophets are based on these two commandments.

Love is the base of worship to God; when one love others, this one’s second purpose in life. Most people put relationships on hold so as to meet what is considered to be the more important issues in life. In doing so they are technically breaking God’s greatest command of love. There is little or no time to fellowship and interacting with each other, so these relationships become strained and at the same time people gravitate to the so-called pleasures of life, too much to name here (2 Timothy 3:1-5) because the moral values of relationships are overlooked.

So as Christians we should clothes ourselves in love and avoid living a life that is meaningless
