'TURN IT OVER TO JESUS'
Grandma often sings ‘Turn it over to Jesus’, a song I learnt at church during my early childhood. I always joined in with grandma singing this song but never understood why she was always singing it.
Now, being a mother, I’m beginning to understand why this song was so comforting to her. The daily trials she faced, looking after us as grandchildren while worrying about her grown children who weren’t always walking in the light, 'was enough to drive her to an early grave'. But grandma, through her trials, learnt how to pray and trust in Jesus. So if you are a mother/grandmother today whose daughter/granddaughter won’t hear you and whose son/grandson don’t seem to care, why not take Grandma Peddie’s advice and turn it over to Jesus?
Don’t let the situation consume you, for it’s the devil’s way of stealing your joy. Find your comfort in Jesus, let go of all that keeps you from living life in its fullness; turn it over to Jesus and let Him restore your joy.
Celebrate each day that you are blessed with, not just Mother’s Day, for God chose you to bring life on earth and that means you are special.
