Spiritual Reformation

The Greatest Spiritual reformation in Judah done by the Youngest King (2nd Kings 22:1-6, 11-13, 2nd Kings 23:1-6, 16-17)

Biography of Josiah

Josiah was eight years old when he became king of Judah. (2nd Kings 22:1) He is the youngest king that ever graces the throne of Judah. He did not have much spiritual guidance because both his father and grandfather did evil in the sight of God. (2nd Kings 21). Josiah demonstrates two very important points to us in life today:

Children, you are not too young to serve God

You are not too young to serve God. As an eight year old boy, he chooses to do the right things in life and in the sight of God. He did not have time to say that he is a child like most boys and girls do today. He had the leadership of God’s chosen people thrust upon him because his father only reigns on the throne of Judah for two years. He was the only heir to the throne so he had to take up the challenges of being a leader. Although he had advisers the final decisions were his to make.
