Name Above All Names

The Lord is evident in everything I see. My hope is that through your contact with me, you'll also see the Lord in me.

In December 2003, while I was attending Olivet Deptford Baptist Church, in London, I was asked by my pastor's wife, Sis. Brenda Rumble, to write something to share on the ladies Sunday.  I wrote Name Above All Names.  It was completed on the 11th December 2003 and I shared it as a song, though I wrote it as a poem.

Now I'm sharing it here with you, as a reminder that we celebrate the gift of LOVE - JESUS CHRIST at Christmas time.  He is the REAL gift of Christmas, so celebrate with purpose this year.  That Sunday Sis. Rumble also shared with us -- she was the main speaker of the day.  One of the things she reminded us to do is to KEEP the CHRIST in CHRISTmas.  That struck me because I used to receive cards from workmates who would sign (Xmas) instead of Christmas.  One of my friend's Mother often does that as well and I'm sure I may have done so on a few occasions.  Many people will try to save time by using an X in the place of CHRIST and soon we latch onto it and start using it ourselves.  While some use this as a way of being part of the festive season but not wanting to associate with being a Christian, others are unaware that they are, in effect, removing the reason we celebrate the Season.

So this Christmas I encourage you to Stand up for Christ and refuse to be drawn by the commercial aspect of the festive season.  Spend some time reflecting on The CHRIST of Christmas.  Use this time as an opportunity to share your faith with your loved ones.  He gave His all for us.  Let us do something special for HIM this Christmas and carry on in this spirit for each day that follows.

God bless you all and have a MERRY CHRISTmas.
Love and blessings.
