As Couples Resorts’ Chief Romance Officer and Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Randy Russell knows just how to keep you smiling way after the honeymoon is over. He has all the tips you’ll need to make your wedding or honeymoon an unforgettable event. Randy reads his clients love letters – how much more romantic can one get? He knows his stuff! And he goes all out to prove to his guests that Couples Resort offer the best service on the
Over the past three months we’ve looked at What to expect as part of the package; whether to book a wedding or honeymoon package and the more popular destinations catering for couples getting married abroad. In closing the series Randy, was kind enough to spare a little time from his very busy schedule, to offer some expert advice. I am privileged having the chance to share some of this advice with you.
I thought it quite odd, that Randy reads love letters to ‘significant others’ as he puts it. But he clarified that with: “I know it may sound strange to you – perhaps even silly - but I have read over 150 letters this year with dozens more scheduled.” This shows dedication to me and a willingness to please the clients; helping them to have a memorable stay at the resort. What more can you ask for in a ‘Romance Officer’? I certainly will be seeking Randy’s personal advice when the renewal of our vows comes around.
I asked Randy:
What advice would you give a couple planning their Wedding or Honeymoon abroad?
He responded:
“I would highly recommend using a travel agent who is knowledgeable about destination weddings. There are several
documents that must be completed and the travel agent will be a great resource in processing them in a timely fashion.”
I agree with Randy and urge you to take heed to this advice. The travel documents referred to in Randy’s response, includes legal documentations, without which your wedding cannot take place. So do take care in getting things in order before you travel. For example, if you have been divorced you would need the legal papers to prove the annulment of your previous marriage.
I wanted to find out how Randy would convince a British Couple, wanting to get married in
He has so much confidence in the service he offers, that he is willing to leave the convincing job to his “loyal guests”. So if this resort appeals to you, your Romance Officer suggests that you stop by the message board at couples.com.
Randy has held the position of ‘Chief Romance Officer’ approximately two years now and is very passionate about the service he provides. And why not! He created the position. It is great when one is passionate about one's career for then it’s a win-win situation. The client gets the best service and the service provider gets the satisfaction of providing the client's need. Randy says that creating this position is
“…to show our guests that we have a vested interest in making sure that we provide the most romantic holiday possible.”
Having been in the travel industry for more than a decade, knowing how important it is to keep the guests satisfied, I think this was a great move for the Couples Resort. In providing such service for their guests, they’ve managed to establish a unique position in the Weddings and Honeymoon market. Way to go Randy!
