A -To love one another (2:7)

Tip2

Q3 -How do we know that we really love God and recognise those who do?
A -Those who obey God’s word really do love Him (v5) that is the way to know whether or not we live in him.

Tip3

Q4 -Who is the great liar?
A -The one who says that Jesus is not the Christ

Tip4

Q5 -How do we recognise the last hour?
A -You have heard that the antichrist is coming and already many such antichrists have appeared. From this we know that the end of the world has come (v18).

                                                                      Questions & Answers 1-5

Q6 -Why should I continue to live in fellowship with Christ?

A -You should continue to live in fellowship with Christ that when He returns, you will be full of courage and not shrink back from him in shame.

Q7 -Why did you write these letters?

A -I have written these things to you because you need to be aware of those who want to lead you astray (v26). But you have received the Holy Spirit, and he lives within you, so you don’t need anyone to teach you what is true. For the Spirit teaches you all things and what he teaches is true – It is not a lie. So continue in what he has taught you and continue to live in Christ.

Q8 -You said not to believe everyone who claims to speak by the spirit – why is that?
A -You must test them to see if the spirit they have come from God, for there are many false prophets in the world.

Q9 -Ah! See, I read that but I’m confused. How do I test these things?

A -This is the way to find out if they have the spirit of God: If a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ became a human being that person has the spirit of God. If a prophet does not acknowledge
Jesus, that person is not from God. Such a person has the spirit of the antichrist. You have heard that he is going to come into the world and he is already here (1 John 4: 1 – 3).
Tip5

Q10 -What is your view on leaders like Diotrephes, who not only refuses to welcome the travelling teachers, he also tells others not to help them. And when they do help he puts them out of the church?
A -Dear friend, don’t let this bad example influence you. Follow only what is good. Remember that those who do good prove that they are God’s children and those who do evil prove that they do not know God.

Tips From Interview

Tip 1:
If someone says: “I belong to God”, but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and does not live in the truth (2:4)
Back

Tip 2:   This commandment is true in Christ and is also true among you, because the darkness is disappearing and the true light is already shining (2:8b). If anyone says: “I am living in the light” but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is still living in darkness (2:9). If we love our brothers and sisters it proves that we have passed from death to eternal life. A person who has no love is still dead (1st John 3:4). Anyone who hates another Christian is really a murderer at heart and you know that murderers don’t have eternal life within them (3:15).
Back

Tip 3:   Anyone who loves other Christians is living in the light and doesn’t cause anyone to stumble (v10). Anyone who hates a Christian brother or sister is living and walking in darkness. Such a person is lost, having been blinded by the darkness (v11). Since we know that God is always right, we also know that all who do what is right are his children.
Back

Tip 4:   Such people are antichrists, for they have denied the father and the son (v22). Anyone who denies the son doesn’t have the father either (v23).
Back

Tip 5:   Many deceivers have gone out into the world. They do not believe that Jesus Christ came to Earth in a real body. Such a person is a deceiver and an antichrist. Watch out so that you do not lose the prize for which we have been working so hard. Be diligent so that you’ll receive your full reward. For if you wander beyond the teaching of Christ, you will not have fellowship with God. But if you continue in the teaching of Christ, you will have fellowship with both the Father and the son. (2nd John 7-11)
